Bee Sweet Honey is a family-owned Texas beekeeping company specializing in raw Texas honey, honeybee removals, agricultural valuation (Ag Exemption) apiaries, educational programs, and beekeeping products. Since 2017, we have managed honeybee colonies throughout North Texas while helping landowners, schools, and communities better understand the importance of pollinators.

How Bee Sweet Honey Came to Bee

Hi, I'm Amelia! My beekeeping journey began in 2016 when I applied for the Metro Beekeepers Association Youth Scholarship Program in Fort Worth. To be considered, I wrote an essay explaining why I wanted to become a beekeeper and participated in an interview.

A month later, my mom received a phone call with exciting news—I had been selected as one of only six scholarship recipients! I was thrilled. The scholarship included a beekeeping class, a hive, beekeeping equipment, a bee suit, a smoker, and a hive tool.

For the next year, I attended monthly beekeeping classes and learned all about honey bees. My Dad joined me on this adventure and even got his own bee suit so he could help. Together, we started our first hive in our backyard.

As we learned more about bees, we gained hands-on experience with hive inspections, swarm management, honey harvesting, re-queening hives, and caring for healthy bee colonies. What started as my scholarship project quickly became a family passion. In fact, my Dad became so involved that he was named Rookie Beekeeper of the Year in 2017.

As our beekeeping adventure grew, so did our dream. My sister Valerie and I came up with the name "Bee Sweet Honey," and together we helped harvest honey and care for the bees. The honey we sold taught us valuable lessons about hard work, responsibility, and entrepreneurship. We even opened savings accounts and deposited our earnings to help save for our future cars.

Today, those lessons and memories continue to inspire us. What began with one scholarship hive has grown into Bee Sweet Honey—a family-owned business built on a love of bees, quality honey, and sharing the sweet rewards of hard work with others.

Thank you for supporting our family and our bees!
